1. Write a characterization

Assignment: Write a characterization of Parvez from “My Son the Fanatic” in about 150 words.

The story is generally about a conflict between a boy’s search for an identity and afather’s expectations to his son. It can be very difficult to become integrated and people deal with it in different ways “My son the Fanatic” is a short story about what kinds of consequences it can lead to. The father Parvez is a hard-working Pakistani with a tendency to alcoholism, who left his native country and settled down in England many years ago. He lives with his wife and son, but most of the time he is at work as a taxi driver at night.
