Love: In Stone cold, we follow a homeless boy who calls himself Link, Link falls completely in love with a girl who calls herself Gail, Gail is beautiful and have those laser-eyes, as Link describes them and can’t resist. Not long after they met Link admits that he is falling in love with her. Link and Gail take good care of each other and split the money they get from begging to buy food.
Friendship: Link comes to London, where he meets Ginger, Ginger is also homeless and he teaches Link how to survive. They bond really quick and stay together all the way until they one day split up because Ginger have to go meet some of his friends but he never returns. Link feels betrayed and can´t seem to stop wondering why Ginger have left him. After a talk with Nick, who tells him that Ginger followed a man and that Ginger looked very worried and that they were talking about Link being hurt, he starts suspecting that Ginger haven´t actually left him but that something has happened to him and that this man who claimed that he has been hurt had something to do with Ginger’s disappearance. Which leads us on to the next theme, crime.
