Fleksible vindmøller: tobladet downwind design

Wind turbines that yields for the wind are cheaper to produce .

The most modern wind turbines is pretty stiff in their construction and they have three blades, but perhaps the big wind turbines in the future will be flexible and equipped with two blades. A to bladed wind turbine that is build bendable and flexible, so that the many influences from the wind automatically balance out each other trough the construction of the turbine, that means big savings in the consumption of materials.

The testing station for wind turbines have constructed and build a two bladed 15kW wind turbine, where most traditional opinions of a wind turbine is left out. Compared to modern-days big three bladed wind turbines, there are a series of differences. The traditional mill therefore has a motor, that actively turns the mill cap to capture the wind, and the turbine is a so-called upwind turbine, i.e. that the rotor points against the wind. The new two bladed wind turbine is a downwind turbine i.e. that the rotor is pointed backwards to the wind, and that means, that it adapt it self after the wind direction. Moreover the blades on the new turbine freely tips in relation to the mill house, just as the whole mill house freely tips in relations to the tower.
