The Giver are a sci-fi movie starring Jeff bridges as the Giver of the community and directed by Phillip Noyce. It is based on the young adult novel the Giver by Lois Lowry, which won the Newberry medal. The movie premiered on August 11-2014. The movie received a People’s Choice Award and nomination for “Favorite Dramatic Movie.”

After the Ruin, a civil colorless, drug damped, equation community there avoid the memories of the past, where everyone follows established rules of politeness enforced by a council of ever watchful Elders. Jonas who feels different from his to best friends, Fiona and Asher, and his family, finds himself assigned as the next Receiver of Memories. As the Receiver of Memory, he will be trained by the Giver, who telepathically imparts memories of the past to Jonas. With the time Jonas learns about emotions as love, and fear, but when they plan the elimination of the baby Gabriel, who he comes to loves as a brother, enter his awareness, Jonas describes the society needs a change, but the Chief Elder will try to do anything to stop Jonas.
