Marcus is a twelve-year-old boy, who lives with his sick and depressed single mother. They just moved to London, in a small apartment. He is struggling to find the balance between pleasing his mother, or living his own life. Actually he does not know if he is living his own, or the life his mother wants him to live. Because of his mothers’ strange beliefs, he has a very unpopular and unfashionable appearance, and listens to abnormal teenage music, as Mozart. She even made him turn in to a vegetarian. In fact he has never owned a pair of trainers. Other guys in school is bullying him and calling him weird. It is mostly because of his clothes, his mothers’ behaviour, his hair cut and his unintentionally singing out loud. Not only the kids but also the teachers consider him as weird. He know hi is not normal, but he does it all to try to make his mom happy. Marcus has to be very responsible, because he is taking care of the mentally sick mother. He is very aware of the situation at home, and almost blames the mother for not taking the necessary care. After the suicide attempt, Marcus is constantly scared of losing her. That makes him trying to find his mom a boyfriend, so she can not leave Marcus all alone. That is where will comes into the picture.
