Nick and his father and his Uncle George sat on the stern of the rowboat, they had to row to the Indian camp to help a sick Indian woman. They arrived to the Indian Camp, it was dark and cold they walk to the shanty were the young Indian lady lay on a bunk, she was pregnant and were in labour, in the upper bunk was her husband. The lady screamed in pain, the position of the baby did if unable for it to be born naturally, so Nick’s dad, who’s a doctor, had to perform a caesarean operation to help the birth. But he didn’t have any anaesthetics with him, so Uncle George and three other Indians held the woman, so she couldn’t fight against because of the pain. He operate her with a jack knife and sew her’ incisions with a tapered gut leaders. But the operation went very well so the doctor exaltedly went out to tell the husband about the happy news, but the husband had committed suicide.
